Originally from Alberta, Canada, Annette was born into a German-speaking immigrant family and grew up in an English as a second language environment.
She earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge and completed coursework in the Master of Counseling program at the University of Kentucky, as well as coursework for the Bachelor of Religious Education through Taylor University in Edmonton, Alberta.
For Annette, writing is like "building a house. It begins with a good blueprint, pouring a strong foundation, adding strengthening structures, eventually adding the walls and rooms, and then attending to all the details that make it a strong and beautiful."
