Humanity in Action develops international educational programs for university students and young professionals. Our objective is to promote a dialogue about understanding and responding to the challenges that democratic countries face as they become more diverse societies. Our programs explore past and present examples of resistance to intolerance, with a goal of encouraging future leaders to be engaged citizens and responsible decision makers.
Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship Program - Due January 15, 2016
The Programs provide academic and professional preparation for outstanding candidates to enter the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service, representing America’s interests abroad. Pickering Fellows are undergraduate and graduate students in academic programs relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply.
The Humane Studies Fellowship program supports study in a variety of fields including economics, philosophy, law, political science, history, and sociology. As you might expect, the kinds of research undertaken generally focuses on that which advances the ideas of a free society.
