Wheaton Teams Sweep APEX Competition
Congratulations to Carter Harms ’15, Hannah Kellner ’16, Wesley Braeden ’17, and Gabe Sandoval ’16 (pictured below) for their first-place finish at APEX, Allstate’s annual regional competition. Wheaton’s teams finished first, second, and third in 2015, and also won first place in both 2014 and 2013. In this competition between interdisciplinary teams, students work with an Allstate professional to analyze a relevant Allstate business issue and develop an executive-ready presentation, which the top three teams then present to a panel of Allstate's senior leaders.
Wheaton Hosts Business Plan Competition
Wheaton College hosted the Midwest/East regional competition of Elevate, a national, faith-based business plan competition among national universities, fellowships, and Christian colleges held in March 2015. Out of 31 business plans, 7 regional finalists (including Proxi Marketplace the winning team from Wheaton’s Shark Tank competition) were selected to compete for the $20,000 Midwest/East award, and the opportunity to advance to the national competition, held in Silicon Valley in April. This year, the Relief Watch team from The University of Chicago went on to win the $50,000 grand prize.
