As an educator, Berndt has served on the faculties of the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, DePaul University, and Merit School of Music. He is recognized for cultivating technically accomplished and expressive musicians whose curiosity and artistry extend beyond the practice room. His students have earned All- State honors and scholarships to many of the nation's leading conservatories and universities. His teaching emphasizes artistic excellence, collaboration, and the integration of technical mastery with expressive musicianship.
