After college graduation, I expected I would have a career working with people. However, I never suspected it would be in full-time ministry. Growing up outside Chicago, I returned home after college and started volunteering in my local church and this simple experience changed my life. In this experience, I felt God’s call into full-time ministry and, for twenty-five years, I led children and family ministries in the church. To better equip myself for ministry, I pursued further degrees in Educational Ministries (Wheaton Graduate School) and Theological Studies (Covenant Theological Seminary).

It was during a ministry sabbatical that I started wondering if we, as a church, often neglect the spiritual formation of young children. This uncertainty led me to pursue a doctorate exploring faith formation within early childhood. As a result of my scholarly pursuits(as well as my understanding of practical ministry), I am passionate about encouraging, equipping, and challenging the next generation of ministry leaders to faithfully pursue God’s call in their lives. My husband, Keith, and I enjoy cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family in our old fixer-upper home. In our free time, we like to escape to our home studio where I enjoy quilting, knitting, fabric dying and other fiber arts.
