Melanie Cottle, a graduate of Northwestern University, has studied with Frank Brouk, Norman Schweikert, and Dale Clevenger. She has played regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1982, and has toured with them worldwide, playing horn and Wagner tuba. She also plays with the Chicago Philharmonic, Chicago Lyric Opera, Ars Viva! orchestra, and Lake Forest Symphony. She has played in more than eighty Broadway musicals and can be heard on hundreds of tv and radio commercials. She has taught at Northwestern University, and has taught the horn students at Wheaton since 1974.
