Christopher Lorimer, tenor, has been teaching voice and singing professionally in the Chicago area for more than thirty years. A graduate of Northwestern University, he is on the voice faculty at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and at Concordia University, where he also serves as coordinator for the vocal department. His teaching duties at Wheaton, in addition to studio voice, have included Vocal Pedagogy, Vocal Techniques for Non-Majors, Opera Workshop, coaching of various ensembles and music preparation for "The Tenderland." He is the Director of Music Ministry at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ of Naperville where he founded and produces the "First at Two" concert series. Christopher attended the AIMS program in Graz, Austria where he was a finalist in the International Meistersinger Competition. He also placed first in the Chicago Union League Civic and Arts Foundation Competition and has received awards from the Mozart Society of Chicago and Friends of Austria. Christopher received a certification to be a Music Practitioner, which trained him to provide live music for people in hospitals, hospice and memory care facilities.
