Thomas Kay, Ph.D.Associate Professor of History Emeritus

Dr. Kay was born and raised in Wheaton. He sang in the Men's Glee Club all four years while an undergraduate at the college. His dissertation was titled "The Impact of the Viking Raids on the French Monasteries." He also studied the history of political thought, the Reformation, and the Renaissance. While at Wheaton, he taught upper level courses in Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Europe in the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation, Twentieth Century Russia, and, on occasion, American History. Drs. Weber, Maas and Rapp all took classes from Dr. Kay.
Dr. Kay and his wife have three children. His daughter graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts, and his sons Bob and John graduated from Wheaton College.
