Elaine Hooker

Elaine HookerAs Catalog Librarian, Elaine delights in describing and in helping others discover the resources of the Wade, whether it be in a machine-readable catalog record, a conversation in the reading room, a blog post, or a Wade outreach event. She holds a B.A. in English from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and an M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was the recipient of a Carnegie Tuitional Fellowship.

Elaine has worked in all types of libraries for over 15 years and has additional expertise in online searching, information seeking behaviors, and library reference techniques. Elaine is married to Professor David Hooker of the Wheaton Art Department, and together they parent two children and a new puppy.
