Institute for Prison Ministries Training

The Institute for Prison Ministries is a training and resource center for those who share the gospel within the correctional community.

In-Prison Training

Answering the Call (ATC) is an in-prison training seminar for Christ-followers to live focused lives of witness and discipleship. ATC is a four-hour seminar which can be divided into separate shorter sessions. Student workbooks are provided for each prisoner participant.

Train the Trainer seminar is a five-hour seminar to train instructors who are interested in providing an ATC seminar.

Ministry Training

IPM provides competent correctional ministry through volunteer training and mentor training seminars for churches and ministries at their locations.

Volunteer Seminar: Providing Competent Correctional Ministry helps prepare volunteers for effective in-prison ministry. This four-hour seminar includes topics such as Christian correctional ministry, characteristics of effective volunteers, criminal justice and corrections, security issues, inmates culture, and ministry opportunities.

Mentor Seminar: Transition Coach Training is a six-hour seminar designed to provide a foundation for mentoring. Additional topics include helping people transition out of poverty and evidence-based practice of motivational interviewing (helping people become internally motivated to change behaviors).
