Charles’ responsibilities include overseeing content and publications strategies; managing videographers, photographers, media producers, writers, and editors; overseeing Wheatonmagazine’s operations, policies, and content; crafting strategies in partnership with College marketers; leading initiatives for the College brand; providing consultation on brand strategy and marketing to partners throughout the College; and conducting research to support integrated marketing.

 

Charles earned a B.A. in literature with minors in comparative religion and biblical and theological studies from Nyack College in New York. After a time in church ministry in New Jersey, he became an editor with PR Newswire, a global news and marketing solutions company. He earned a master's degree in History of Christianity from Wheaton College and, while working on his master’s, he served on pastoral staff at a local church and contributed to Wheaton magazine as a writer and editorial consultant. He came on as the editor of Wheatonmagazine in 2017, began supporting brand strategies for the College in 2019, and now oversees the College’s brand and content strategies. Charles is originally from New Hampshire, but now calls Westmont, IL, home with his wife and two children. Charles and his family are members together with Peace of Christ Church, a fellowship of house churches in Westmont. In his spare time, Charles enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking/backpacking, cooking, and reading.
