Contact the BGC Archives with Your Reference Questions
The BGC Archives receives hundreds of requests for information a year, and we strive to respond to both in-person and virtual reference requests promptly and thoroughly. While the BGC Archives encourages individuals to visit the Archives in person to conduct research, we understand that many researchers are unable to travel to use our resources.
Due to staff and time limitations, the BGC archivists can spend no more than a half an hour assisting an individual researcher. Any request requiring extensive research must either be done in person by the patron or be directed to proxy research services. Please contact the Archives for our current list of proxy researchers.
When submitting a reference request, please provide as many details as possible, such as collection names, specific call numbers for archival materials, or full names of individuals. Users may wish to search the Archives’ database and browse the collection guides for more information about individual items or collections and to narrow their reference questions.
