Buswell Memorial Library
Buswell Memorial Library is named for the College's third president, J.
Oliver Buswell, Jr. (1926-1940), and was built in 1975.
It is joined by
an interior corridor to the Nicholas Wing, built in 1951 and named for
Robert E. Nicholas, trustee of the College.
Together these two
buildings house the College's main library, music library, Buswell
computer lab, and the College archives. The Library's holdings comprise
nearly one million items, making it one of the largest liberal arts
college libraries in the state of Illinois. Materials not owned by the
Library may be borrowed through local consortial arrangements or through
the Library's participation in an international interlibrary loan
network.
In addition, Wheaton faculty and students may borrow materials
directly at several dozen colleges and universities in Chicago and the
surrounding area, upon presentation of their College I.D. card.
