International Travel Clinic

The mission of the International Travel Clinic is to educate students on how to live healthy while living overseas.

Traveling to different countries can be exciting. However, when you travel to a tropical or developing country, you may be unsure about the quality of the food or water. You may be exposed to disease carrying insects or animals. Some countries have disease that are easily preventable by vaccines. Our goal is to keep you healthy while you travel.

At the International Travel Clinic (ITC), we offer the following services:

Personal and individualized travel consultation with trained medical professionals for active Wheaton College students or faculty/staff traveling with a Wheaton College trip. The consultation includes an individualized review of medications needed for the travel experience, as well as immunization, food and water safety, climate, insects or animals to avoid, prevalent diseases, personal safety, blood borne pathogen training and also the political environment of the countries being visited. The ITC is staffed by nurses trained in travel health and utilizes the Travax Travel Medicine Program to inform and update students, faculty and staff about health and travel conditions including immunizations during a consultation. Appointments can be made by calling 630-752-5072.
