Club Sports
The purpose
of Wheaton College Club Sports is to provide student-initiated,
managed and funded sports opportunities at an intercollegiate
level of competition, above that of intramurals and below
that of varsity athletics, to Wheaton College students, faculty,
staff and their spouses.
Club sports
can provide the opportunity for students to develop positive
Christian attitudes and good sportsmanship through the testing
ground of athletic competition. Club sports offer extra-curricular
learning experiences for their members through involvement
in fund raising, public relations, organization, administration,
budgeting and scheduling as well as the development of skills
in their particular sport. Involvement in a group and a team
situation helps enhance the student's overall education while
at college.
The Wheaton College club sports purpose supports the vision
of the athletic department and the overall mission of the
college.
Any student
desiring to participate in a club sport or any student having
further questions should contact the club contact person (listed
on the sport's individual page) or Sydney
Westrate.
