Student Government
“…those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”
“The purpose of Student Government shall be to serve the undergraduate student body…act as a liaison…and to promote the growth of the college…”
-The SG Constitution
2009-2010 Student Government Vision:
To be excellent stewards of the influence we have been given while staying committed to each other and to the college.
2009-2010 Student Government Goals:
-
Do everything for Christ. We are not volunteering to serve for our own agendas, but are here to serve the student body. Attitude counts; it matters just as much as what we actually accomplish.
-
Do all things for the glory of God. If at the end of the year, we have accomplished everything we have set out to do, but we did not “…set an example for the believers in life, in love, and in purity...” then we have ultimately failed. This year should be marked by a mature growth for all those that are involved in SG, as well as the high quality of our work.
-
Serve the student body as an overflow of what we already have. We can’t fill others if we’re drained ourselves. All 22 of us desire to make sure that we are being wpoured into, spiritually and emotionally.
-
Know those we are serving. We must connect with the student body as a whole. We are not only serving our friends, but the body at large.
-
We will keep our word. Integrity must be at the center of what we are doing and that means that we are holding ourselves accountable. If we set goals for ourselves we must do everything we can to meet them. We might find out that some of the goals we set are unachievable, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t try. Our team must commit to holding ourselves accountable to trying to achieve our goals.
-
We must be committed to our mission and also to each other.
