The Wheaton Record was established in 1876 and is the weekly student newspaper of Wheaton College in Illinois.

The Record is distributed to about 3,000 people every Friday during the academic year, except during college breaks and exams. The Record publishes an average of 12 tabloid (11X17) pages each issue and consists of five sections: News, Spotlight (features), InterSection (entertainment), Voices (opinion) and Sports.

The Record is respected as one of the best small college newspapers in Illinois, winning first place for general excellence in its category from the Illinois College Press Association in 2006. The Record is a member of the Associated Collegiate Press and the Illinois College Press Association.

Wheaton College serves as publisher and owner of The Record and grants student leadership positions in the editorial and business management of student publications for educational purposes. Wheaton College students produce The Record.

The students who produce The Record volunteer and gain experience in reporting, writing, photography, graphic design, editing, production, circulation and advertising. Current Wheaton College students are eligible to join The Record. Most staff members begin with little or no experience. Browse the sections to the left for more information on how you can get involved.
