1. How do I ship my belongings to campus?

  • All mail is received at the College Post Office.
  • The mailing address for both packages and letters is a student's CPO number, Wheaton College, 501 East College Avenue, Wheaton, IL, 60187.
  • Questions regarding CPO address or shipping may be directed to the College Post Office at (630) 752-5083.

2. What type of computer do I need to hook up to ResNet?

Go to the Resnet homepage for more information.

3. What type of storage is available?

  • All the residence halls provide limited storage at no cost for boxes over the summer on the floor, in an attic or in a basement.
  • Residence Halls provide limited bike storage on a first come, first serve basis throughout the academic year and over the summer.
  • Each apartment is assigned a basement storage cage, which is approximately 6'x3'x6'.
  • Summer storage is available to those apartment residents who are continuing their enrollment the following fall.

4. Can I stay at Wheaton College as a guest?

  • No overnight guest of the opposite sex is permitted at any time in student housing.
  • All guests of the student should be the student's peers and friends.
  • Parents and other adults should not be invited to stay in College housing.
  • Guests are limited to three-day visits, and guests in the residence halls must be registered with the Resident Assistant.
  • Wheaton does not offer any other guest housing.

5. How do I change my meal plan?

  • Meal plan changes are allowed only between semesters and for the first week of classes.
  • Changes must be made in writing and sent to the Housing Office (Student Services Building 218) or on-line at: www.wheaton.edu/reslife/meal.htm; changes sent only to the Student Accounts Office or the Wheaton Installment Plan will not be honored.

6. How should I resolve a roommate conflict?

  • Speak directly to the person with whom you are having conflict.
  • Identify the area causing conflict for you and identify the options that will help the conflict be resolved.
  • Seek input from the person with whom you are in conflict to understand the conflict from his/her perspective and to hear his/her ideas about how to resolve the conflict.
  • Discuss solutions until all persons agree on understandable and attainable solutions that, to the best degree possible, will help all persons in conflict be resolved.
  • If the suggestions above have not worked, or you feel intimidated by the person(s) with whom you are in conflict, then seek out the help of a friend or staff member at the college (such as a Resident Assistant, Graduate Resident Adviser, or Resident Director) who can help you work toward resolving the conflict.

7. How do I get involved?

  • Living in community works best when you are willing to initiate relationships with those around you.
  • In the process of getting to know people you live with and around, you will see areas that others may need your help and/or encouragement.
  • Seek ways to encourage and help others.
  • You may volunteer your time to help serve your peers in all residence halls through the Community Life Council or through your Resident Assistant.
