Commitment to Diversity
The Psy.D. program at Wheaton College maintains a strong commitment to diversity in its recruitment and training. Students of color, persons who are physically challenged, and older students are especially encouraged to apply to our program. Recognizing that diversity is an essential value that is emphasized throughout training, the doctoral program places particular emphasis upon the recruitment of ethnic and racial minority students.
As part of its mission statement, the Wheaton Psy.D. program is sensitive to issues of culture and diversity in the training of students. We maintain a special concern for those individuals who have been marginalized by our society, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, social class and gender. In seeking to fulfill this element of our mission statement, we place particular emphasis upon the recruitment of persons from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic and racial minorities.
Persons of color and special circumstance applicants are highly encouraged to contact the Diversity Coordinator and the student representatives of the Diversity Committee. These individuals would be delighted to talk with you by phone or to meet with you in person.
