Teacher invites you to...
"A
Listening Session" on March 27 at 4:15 p.m. co-hosted
by the Vice-Chair of Faculty and Project Teacher in Harbor
House (refreshments at 3:45 p.m.). The Vice-Chair will report
on follow-up to last year's listening sessions and invite
discussion on ongoing concerns.
"Teaching
on the Boundaries: Evangelical Women as Scholar-Teacher-Mentors"
on April 11 at 3:30 p.m. in Blanchard 339, co-hosted with
the Department of Biblical & Theological Studies. The
occasion will feature a faculty panel and Dr. Christine Pol
as respondent. Dr. Pol is co-author of Living on the Boundaries:
Evangelical Women, Feminism, and the Theological Academy (IVP,
2005). Copies of Dr. Pol's books are available on request
from Project Teaching or the Department of Biblical &
Theological Studies. All faculty and administrators are invited.
"Success
Sabbaticals" on April 16 at 4:00-5:15 p.m. (refreshments
at 3:45 p.m.) in Harbor House. How do you apply for, plan,
and carry out a meaningful sabbatical? Come and learn from
the experiences of faculty colleagues (panel).
"Contemporary
Disregard for Moral Authority: The Impact on Wheaton's Classrooms"
on April 26 at 4:00-5:15 p.m. (refreshments at 3:45 p.m.)
in Harbor House. Dr. Roger Lundin will describe how Ralph
Waldo Emerson's essays illuminate the contemporary disregard
for nearly any source of authority other than the self and
the consequent implications for faculty in educating Wheaton
students. Copies of Dr. Lundin's book From Nature to Experience:
The American Search for Cultural Authority (Rowman & Littlefield,
2005) are available on request from Project Teacher.
"9th
Annual Institute in Technology," May 8-11 co-sponsored
by Media Resources and Project Teacher. Select from sessions
on PowerPoint, Photoshop, Web CT, Dreamweaver, Groupwise and
other tutorials.
