Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Presidential Selection website, which provides information about the selection process for the next President of Wheaton College. It is intended to assist those of you who are wishing to apply, are wishing to nominate a candidate, or are visiting the site solely out of interest.
Wheaton College, a private, residential, evangelical Christian liberal arts college, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2010. Over the course of this past century and a half, only seven presidents have led this institution—a remarkable testament to Wheaton's strength and stability.
But it is God's grace, direction, and blessing that have sustained the life and work of this institution. The purposes, goals, and activities of the College are guided by our mission and our commitment to do all things “For Christ and His Kingdom.” This is a place where the pursuit of faith and learning is taken seriously. Our Statement of Faith is central to our identity, as is our Community Covenant.
Since 1993, President Duane Litfin and his wife, Sherri, have provided faithful, effective leadership. The Wheaton College Board of Trustees is deeply grateful for their service to the College, and wishes them a joyful, active retirement.
The Presidential Search Committee welcomes nominations, applications, and expressions of interest in this leadership role.
If you have questions or comments, please send them to presidentialselection@wheaton.edu.
Sincerely,
Donald L. Meyer
