Information for Prospective and Incoming Students
AP Credit
- Score of 4 or 5 on Physics C (Mechanics and/or Electricity and Magnetism) earns Physics AP Credit, and student can then enroll in PHYS 233 and/or PHYS 234, as appropriate based on the score and test(s).
- Physics B may also earn some credit, based on the score, but it does not apply to the calculus-based physics sequence (PHYS 231/232).
- Even if someone passes out of parts of the introductory physics sequence with AP credit, he or she is still encouraged to take the full semester classes (PHYS 231/232), further reinforcing concepts while refining critical thinking and lab skills.
