TAKE
NOTE
Financial
Aid
The Financial Aid office is working to resolve financial aid disbursement problems. Often, the lack of disbursement occurs when the loan’s promissory note has not been signed. Information on this process has been sent to your student. Be sure your student has signed the loan note on line according to the instructions. In other cases there are some other forms still incomplete, causing a delay in the disbursement of funds. Your son or daughter can log on to BannerWeb to see what forms are incomplete. As a reminder, students will not be able to register for spring term until their fall term bill is paid. If there are questions, our Financial Aid counselors are available to be of help.
Students with loans, for which the disbursement requirements have not been met by mid-November, will have their loan removed from their award package, assuming that they no longer want to accept it. If, at a later time, they find they need the money, they can talk with their Financial Aid counselor to request the funds again.
In order for funds to disburse in January for spring term, students need to be registered for the number of hours upon which their aid is based. If they indicted they would be full time with at least 12 hours but registered for less than that, their financial aid will not disburse into their student account, and their Stafford loan money for spring term must be returned to the lender. If additional hours are added later, the loan funds will have to be requested again, thus causing a delay in payment of the spring term bill.
Students receiving the Illinois State MAP grant can receive funds based on the exact number of hours for which they are registered, from 3 to 15 hours. Students registered for more than 15 hours automatically receive the full amount for which they are eligible. If your student was awarded a MAP grant for spring term and plans to be enrolled in less than 15 hours, please contact our office (630/752-5021) so we can claim the MAP funds accordingly.

Wheaton Associates - Thank You!
Our very sincere “thank you” to the nearly 1,800 Wheaton Associate households who faithfully commit each year to pray for Wheaton College, to give an annual gift of $1,000 or more to the Wheaton Fund, to promote the mission of Wheaton College in their community, and to encourage others to support Wheaton in similar ways. Last year Wheaton Associates contributed more than 70% of the $4.6m unrestricted gift income.
Recently in the President’s Memorandum publication to Wheaton Associates, Dr. Litfin, in praise of Wheaton’s faculty stated, “Thanks to the generous support of Wheaton Associates, the men and women to whom we entrust the hearts and minds of our students are among the most gifted Christian scholar/teachers today’s world has to offer.” That is the essential role of the Wheaton Fund –helping to provide an affordable and outstanding education at Wheaton College. Your gift to the Wheaton Fund may be an annual gift, but it has daily impact.
If you’re interested in learning more about the Wheaton Associates program, please contact the Assistant Director of Wheaton Associates, Derek Buikema, at 630-752-5162. We also invite you to request a recent copy of the Dr. Litfin’s quarterly newsletter to Associates, the Presidents Memorandum.
