Rodney K. Sisco

Rodney K. Sisco, Director of the Office of Multicultural Development, is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Enter his office or home and you will find a man who has a love for the Lord, science fiction, music and people of diverse backgrounds.

Having served over 20 years in Christian Higher Education in Admissions and Student Development capacities, Mr. Sisco has a vision for Christian higher education focused on Christ centered diversity. He has led workshops focusing on diversity for a broad range of audiences including: faculty, administrators, students, church leaders, and business professionals. In addition, he has led workshops focusing on leadership development, educational motivation, mentoring, and spiritual development. Administratively he has consistently provided leadership in Wheaton's developing diverse community. Along with others within the College, Mr. Sisco has helped to develop the greater than 85% retention rate of students of color at Wheaton and the recruitment of students, faculty, and administration. He has a B.A. in Sociology and Chrisitian Education from Wheaton College and has completed the coursework for the Educational Ministries MA program at Wheaton Graduate School.

Rodney and Hasana (Hasana Pennant-Sisco '86) co-founded the Caribbean American Family Network (CAFN) in order to encourage their love for Caribbean culture engaging in the Americas. Frequently they are heard talking about their 'brave warrior' Juwan Sisco and their 'precious jewel' Jabari Sisco. Both boys bring their parents great joy. Hasana is from Jamaica and they try to visit with family there often, especially during the winter months.

Eva Ortiz

Eva Ortiz, Assistant Director of the Office of Multicultural Development, is originally from Aurora, Illinois and is now a resident of Elgin, Illinois with her beloved husband Andy. Wherever she finds herself to be, in a store or simply walking to her vehicle, Eva seeks for opportunities to express “C.A.R.E.” (compassion, appreciation, reaching out, and encouragement) to all who cross her path. Eva believes the greatest call on her life is to “serve others” and to live out her life as “worship” to the Lord.

Entrusted with over 20 years of service to the community at large, Mrs. Ortiz brings with her a love for Christ (and his children), a passion for higher education matched with energy and a sincere interest to connect with people. As a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a diverse background in training and motivating community leaders to action, Eva is committed to utilizing her God–given gifts to encourage, empower, and challenge students to excel throughout their Wheaton experience by celebrating their “uniqueness” and maximizing their individual opportunities for communal growth.

"So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good to all people. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith ." Galatians 6:10 (Amplified Bible)
