Last spring, 2,400 college students gave Phil Keaggy a standing ovation for his performance in chapel. On Friday, September 12, Wheaton College welcomes back singer, songwriter and renowned guitarist Phil Keaggy to the Edman Memorial Chapel stage for a special evening of music at 7:30 p.m. And this time, the concert is open to the public.
Keaggy has a cross-generational appeal that sells out concerts across the nation in both contemporary Christian and mainstream music markets. His style is ever-changing, ranging from rock-and-roll to fully orchestrated instrumental compositions.
During his 30 year career, Phil has released more than 50 solo albums and eight releases with his band, Glass Harp. He has been awarded the GMA Dove Award seven times and in 2007 was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. For three years in a row, Phil was voted one of the top fingerstyle guitarists by Guitar Player Magazine readers.
The performance takes place in Edman Memorial Chapel, located on the northeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets in Wheaton (campus map). $15 general admission tickets are available online at www.itickets.com and in the Wheaton College bookstore. Tickets are $20 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. For more information, call the College Union concert hotline at 630.752.5390.
