A Vision of Hope: Reflections of Poverty & AIDS in Africa

The Billy Graham Center Museum presents its newest exhibit, A Vision of Hope: Reflections of Poverty & AIDS in Africa, showcasing the art work of local artists, award-winning photographer Al Buschauer and painter Marg Rehnberg.

This exhibit focuses on some of the very real, personal, moments of women, children and men who live with the effects of AIDS everyday. While often heartbreaking, their stories ultimately bring hope, shown in the faces of those who live in the midst of the crisis with dignity, faith and joy.

The photographs featured were taken by Al Buschauer during several trips he took to Africa with the non-profit agency Hands of Hope and Willow Creek Community Church. Also featured are abstract paintings by Marg Rehnberg, as well as several art composites using the joint skills of both artists.

A Vision of Hope will be on display through February 26, 2009. A reception will be held in the gallery from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16. Both artists will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served.

Museum hours are Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $4 for general admission, $3 for students and seniors, $1 for children under twelve and $10 for families.

The Billy Graham Center Museum is located at 500 College Avenue in Wheaton (campus map). The museum offers free parking and is wheelchair accessible. For more information, call 630.752.5909 or visit www.bgcmuseum.org.
