Alumni of all ages will reconnect with friends and professors while visiting their alma mater during Wheaton College’s 2007 Homecoming Celebration September 28 and 29. The 1982 to 2002 classes will also hold special reunion events.
The Wheaton College Alumni Association will honor Dr. Beatrice Batson, MA ’47 with the Distinguished Service to Alma Mater award for her contributions and commitment to the College. Dr. Batson is professor emerita of English, having taught at Wheaton for thirty-three years. She is the author or editor of ten books, and co-founder of SEVEN, an annual journal designed to promote awareness of the seven authors of the Marion E. Wade Center.
The public is welcome to attend the following events:
- Wheaton Thunder Sporting Events against Millikin University:
- Women’s Soccer: 4:30 p.m. Friday, Joe Bean Stadium
- Women’s Volleyball: 5 p.m. Friday, King Arena
- Men’s Soccer: 7 p.m. Friday, Joe Bean Stadium
- Women’s Tennis vs. Augustana: 9 a.m. Saturday, Tennis Courts
- Football Game: 1 p.m. Saturday, McCully Stadium.
- Student/Alumni 5K Run: 8 a.m. Saturday, Edman Mall. Join students and alumni—or cheer them on—as they run the streets of Wheaton. $12 registration fee includes t-shirt.
- Homecoming Fall Concert: 8 p.m. Saturday, Edman Memorial Chapel. The Conservatory Concert features the Wheaton College Concert Choir, Men’s Glee Club, and Women’s Chorale. Tickets are available at the door: $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, free for children 12 and under.
