Pastor John Piper to speak at Fall Special Services

Author and pastor Dr. John Piper to speak at Wheaton College Fall Special ServicesAuthor and pastor Dr. John Piper ’68 will be the guest speaker for this year's Fall Special Services, September 5-7, 2007, at Wheaton College. 

Pastor John Piper has named his series “Treasuring Christ & the Call to Suffer.” The public is invited to attend the evening service on Thursday, September 6 at 7 pm. The session will be in Coray Auditorium, located at 421 North Chase Street in Wheaton. It is free of charge.

John Piper is the Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and studied at Wheaton College, where he first sensed God's call to enter the ministry. Pastor John Piper is the author of more than 30 books and more than 25 years of his preaching and teaching is available free at www.desiringgod.org. He and his wife Noel have four sons, one daughter, and a growing number of grandchildren.

Fall Special Services is an annual spiritual life series sponsored by the Chaplain’s Office. Most chapel services, including the three morning sessions with Pastor John Piper, are broadcast on WETN 88.1 FM at 10:35 am and 6 pm on the day of chapel with a podcast available online at wetn.org.
