The papers of evangelist Lois Vashti Gregory and interviews with Latin American theologian C. Rene Padilla are now available through the Billy Graham Center Archives at Wheaton College.
Lois Vashti Gregory (1898-1993) was an evangelist and teacher with the Methodist Church. Her ministry included preaching to adults and teaching young people, especially children, about Christian ethics and living a morally pure life. She was also involved in anti-smoking educating of children.
Gregory was educated at the Wheaton College Graduate School. She held meetings primarily in the northeast parts of the United States. Her papers include class papers and notes, correspondence, hymns, manuscript, post cards, sermon notes, and a thesis. For more information on this collection, check out the online guide.
C. Rene Padilla of Argentina has, for many years, been one of Latin America's leading Evangelical theologians. Back in 1987, he sat down with BGC Archives staff to record a three hour oral history of his life and faith. The recordings of this interview is now broken into four parts and digitized, for listening online. The interview is also transcribed and posted online with links to the corresponding audio files. To listen, check out the links to the transcripts/audio files.
