The grant was awarded at a reception Thursday, December 13, at the Foundation’s office in Wheaton, Illinois.
This is the first time the CSA has received a DuPage Community Foundation grant. The $5,000 will help underwrite the CSA’s Community Outreach for Developing Artists (CODA) program, which seeks out and gives access to children for whom an arts education would otherwise be impossible.
Established in 1986, The DuPage Community Foundation is a publicly-supported 501 (c)(3) organization to which contributions are tax deductible. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in grants to approximately 400 not-for-profit agencies serving the residents of DuPage County and beyond. In addition to its discretionary grant programs, the Foundation awards grants from donor-advised and other restricted funds on an ongoing basis. Total grants for fiscal year 2007 amounted to nearly $1.1 million. For more about the Foundation, visit www.dcfdn.org or contact Michael Sitrick at 630.665.5556 or msitrick@dcfdn.org.
Founded in 1970, CSA currently enrolls 1,500 students from more than 50 communities throughout the greater Chicago area. Since its inception, the school has provided professional instruction in the Fine Arts to students of all ages and ability levels.
