The American classic "Little Women" comes to life on the stage through two unique treatments. First, Wheaton College's Opera Music Theater brings the book to the stage through a musical version on January 15-16, and 18-19. English department faculty member Dr. Christine Colón will moderate a post-performance talk-back on Wednesday, January 16th.
The "Little Women" Project will culminate with Wheaton College's Arena Theater on Stage presentation of the play "Little Women" on February 15-16, and 18-23. Dr. Christine Colón will moderate a second talk-back after the Thursday, February 21st performance.
Students from both groups have worked together, helping each other build sets, create costumes, and bring "Little Women" to life. Opera Music Theater director
Dr. Sarah Holman and Arena Theater director Kailey Bell '98 have also collaborated to create two complementary performances, which together embody the whole "Little Women" story. Now, they're inviting you to come experience this literary favorite in an exciting new way.
Opera Music Theater’s production will be held in Barrows Auditorium, located in the east wing of the Billy Graham Center at 500 College Avenue in Wheaton (campus map). All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general audience and may be purchased at the door, or in advance by visiting the Ticket and Information Office, located at 418 North Chase Street in Wheaton. The Arena Theater is located in Jenks Hall, at 433 North Howard Street in Wheaton (campus map). Performances begin at 8 p.m. Tickets for this production go on sale February 6th. For more information, call Arena Theater at 630.752.5800.
