The Wheaton College Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Yontz, present its Winter Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 20.
The program includes Solas Ane by Samuel Hazo, Resting in the Peace of His Hands by John Gibson, Circus Overture by William Shumann, Canzona by Peter Mennin, Handel in the Strand by Percy Grainger, Windsprints by Richard Saucedo and The Third Movement of Concerto for Flute by Jacques Ibert. Dr. Jennie Brown, guest lecturer in flute at Wheaton College, will be the featured soloist for this Ibert's Concerto.
The performance takes place in Edman Memorial Chapel, located at the northeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets in Wheaton (campus map). Tickets are available only at the door and cost $6 for general audience and $4 for students and seniors over 60. For more information, call the Conservatory of Music at 630.752.5099.
