Dr. Joel Carpenter will be giving the first annual Billy Graham Center Archives lecture on Thursday, December 4, at 7 p.m. The lecture is titled "Wheaton, Moody and the China Connection: Finding Our Ancestors in the Archives."
Dr. Carpenter is founder and director of the Nagel Institute for the Study of World Christianity at Calvin College. He will discuss the shaping of American Protestant/Fundamentalist missions in the early part of the 20th century.
There will be a discussion period after the talk, followed by a reception, courtesy of the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals. The free lecture takes place in the Archival Seminar Room on the 3rd floor of the Billy Graham Center, located at 500 E. College Avenue in Wheaton (campus map).
