Political Advisor Philip Zelikow lectures on “An Open, Civilized World”

Wheaton College's Department of Politics and International Relations welcomes Philip Zelikow, director of the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs and White Burkett Miller Professor of History, to present a lecture titled "An Open, Civilized World" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 30.  Prior to his present position, Zelikow served as a professor at Harvard University and held a variety of senior positions in the United States government, including service on the National Security Council.  In the aftermath of 9/11, he helped draft the 2002 National Security Strategy of the United States and subsequently served as the executive director of the 9/11 Commission, which issued its report in July 2004. From 2005 to 2007, Zelikow was a senior advisor to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Free and open to the public, the lecture will take place in the Kresge Room located in the east wing of Edman Memorial Chapel, at the northeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets in Wheaton (campus map).
