To celebrate Earth Day, Wheaton College, with partner sponsors Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition and Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, invites the public to the 2008 Alternative Fuel Vehicle Exposition Tuesday, April 22nd, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on the campus of Wheaton College.
Two seminars will be held in the Phelps Room, located on the lower level of the Todd M. Beamer Student Center (campus map). From 11:00 to 11:45 am, “Alternative Fuels 101” will be presented by John Walton, Manager of Fleet Services for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. From 1:00 to 1:45 pm, “Future of Alternative Vehicles” will be presented by Richard Gunther with GM, and Darwin Burkhart, with Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
Participants are invited to test drive the alternative fuel vehicles on hand throughout the event. The vehicles will be parked around the circle just south of the Todd M. Beamer Student Center, located at 501 College Avenue in Wheaton. Bon Appétit food services at Wheaton College, will be serving a free lunch, featuring an entire menu of low-carbon impact foods.
