Personal duplication:
Can I get my daughter’s wedding videotape copied to DVD?

Media Resources serves the Wheaton College community foremost by providing services to the courses and programs of the institution. When the volume of work allows, there is room for a limited amount of personal duplication. Media Resources does not duplicate copyrighted material for anyone without written permission.

Evening studio use: Can I use the studios after hours at night?

With a reservation approved through the Media Resources main office, students, faculty and staff can be assigned a temporary access key card that will allow after hour access to the approved studio. Their names are posted in the studio so Public Safety knows who is legitimately authorized to be in the building.

Laptop usage: How long can I sign out a laptop?

Faculty and staff can reserve and sign a laptop out for 3 days. Students can use a laptop for their presentations and have a 1 day sign-out period. Reservations are critical.

Edman Chapel carillon: Who rings the Edman Chapel chimes?

Kerry J. Haps, Media Resources Production Coordinator, is responsible for the operation of the carillon. He keeps it on time, plays the appropriate chimes, and rings the chimes in chapel.

ESPN in residences: Why do we keep losing ESPN in student housing?

ESPN contracts on campus cable are negotiated each year and paid for by Student Development. Sometimes Student Government contributes to this programming. Budget decisions usually limit this to 4 months of service.

WETN broadcast signal: Why does WETN radio fade out when I drive away from campus?

WETN is licensed for 250 watts at 88.1 FM. This signal extends approximately 15 miles from the campus to the north and west. The signal does not go as far to the south and east of Wheaton. That is because WETN's signal is directional to protect other stations operating on or adjacent to the WETN frequency. Increasing the power would interfere with these other local stations. Numerous investigations have revealed that there are no available frequencies available that could be at more power covering this listening area without purchasing an existing radio station.
