Collection Description
The Louella Edwards scrapbook is comprised exclusively of photos. The images, two or three to a page, serve as a travelogue, detailing a 1930s trip from the campus of Wheaton College to the Black Hills science station. There are several striking shots of the North Dakota wastes, and the contruction of Mt. Rushmore. The album is black, measuring 7 1/4 x 10 1/4. Folded and tucked into the back is a 1937 copy of THE SUNDAY SCHOOL MESSENGER, featuring an article about "The Little Brown Church in the Vale" of Nashua, Iowa, which is included among the photos. Presumably this site was visited on the return trip, as these images are displayed at the end of the album.
