Collection Description
The two Pearl Nielsen scrapbooks are contained in two separate boxes. The first box holds a brown book embossed with a crest-like design. Measuring 8 1/4 x 11 3/4, it displays paste-ins of 1940 RECORD articles, invitations to social events, lit society notices and commencement exercises. The pages are brittle and disattached from the binding. The second box contains a brown books with raised decorative designs, bound with a string, measuring 12 x 14 ˝. It begins with a few photos of the college campus pasted within, then features Nielsen’s acceptance letter from registrar Enock C. Dyrness, dated April 9th, 1937. More administrative correspondence follows before continuing with paste-ins of invitations, holiday cards, pressed flowers, literary society programs and newspaper articles. Included are photos of campus events and a roadtrip to Springfield, IL, and Colorado Springs, CO, among other points.
