The ISAE's new grant from the Henry Luce Foundation seeks to study the increasing significance of Asians, Africans, Latinos, and other ethnic groups in the evangelical constituency. What differences does this new reality make in evangelicalism and its role in American public life? The change has been steady and significant over the years and needs to be addressed as global Christianity is now on America's doorstep. How does recognition of the "new" evangelicalism's multi-ethnic character impact older assumptions of what American evangelicalism is? What differences does the movement's changing face make in presenting a united stance on public issues? The ISAE, with the help of funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, desires to understand how the "new" evangelicalism's multi-ethnic character is impacting American evangelicalism and the types of changes taking place across the nation in churches and seminaries.
