Degree Mission
Statement
Our
mission is to develop people for effective work in evangelism
that is informed by critical engagement with the nature of
the gospel, Christian life and thought, and the cultures of
the contemporary world. Our model of evangelists is a synthesis
of three general areas: effective understanding servants.
They
are effective leaders in evangelism in that they . . .
- Can speak
from the Scriptures with confidence about the person and
work of Jesus Christ and the necessity for all persons
having a saving relationship with him;
- Are effective
in developing appropriate culturally-sensitive relationships
;
- Can understand
and disciple believers from diverse cultures in Christian
growth;
- Have effective
communication skills for ministry as demonstrated in a
field context;
- Have appropriate
resource development skills for successful strategic planning
and organizational development.
They
understand the nature of the gospel, Christian life and
thought, and cultures of the contemporary world in that

- Can
express thematic appreciation of the biblical theology
of evangelism;

Can interpret Scripture appropriately for ministry;

Understand historical precedents from differing cultural
contexts;

the realities of societal revival and awakening;
