Financial Information for International Undergraduate Students
Following acceptance to Wheaton, the Financial Aid Office will send you a preliminary budget sheet, a Certification of Finance Form, and an information letter.
- The budget sheet will show all estimated expenses for the first academic year at Wheaton, which is 2 semesters.
- The Certification of Finance Form must be completed in order to certify the
availability of financial resources to pay your billed and
personal/miscellaneous expenses while you are in the United States. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will not give an admission decision unless the completed form has been received. If you are applying as an undergraduate student, please go to the Undergraduate Admissions website for more information.
- The Foreign Student Financial Statement must also be filled out and returned to the Financial Aid office.
- Sponsor(s) must send an official bank statement or letter from the bank directly to the Financial Aid Office, Wheaton College, verifying funding for the entire school year. The bank statement must be written or translated into English and must be quoted in U.S. dollars.
- The total estimated amount of money for the first semester's tuition, room, board, and insurance (as listed on the preliminary sheet) must be sent to the Wheaton College Financial Aid Department by June 1, before clearance for the I-20 immigration document will be released.
- An invoice will be sent to you in July itemizing actual, final costs for the first semester on campus. Any additional charges on the invoice not covered by the advance deposit (such as course fees) must be paid prior to your arrival on campus.
- Customs officials at your port of entry to the United States will expect you to have sufficient financial resources with you to cover personal expenses (including the cost of textbooks) for one semester.
Financial Aid
Financial assistance for international students is not directly available through Wheaton College. Therefore, each student is responsible for finding his or her own source of funds. This list will give you some ideas. Write to the organizations listed for additional information. It is very important to contact the organizations well in advance of your planned time of study in the United States.

We estimate that the total cost will increase about 5% each year. If you have access to the internet, you may want to check these web sites for additional financial resources:
