From the
Desk of the Director - June/July 2008
Summer has arrived. The 2007/08 year was a year of new ideas, staff and services.
In regards to our summer hours and services, Student Health Services is opened Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm for administrative purposes only. There are no nurses or physicians hours. If an active student is in need of an immunization, please call SHS before to see if the vaccine is available and a nurse available to administer the vaccine. Student Health Services is here to assist you with any questions you might have regarding your records or for the new student medical or health insurance requirements.
For current or newly accepted students, SHS have a wide array of vaccines available to you when you arrive on campus. If you will be living in the residence hall, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) strongly recommends the meningococcal vaccine (Menactra). This vaccine assists in prevention of meningitis which is a highly contagious debilitating disease and at times fatal. For more information about this vaccine and the disease please go to cdc.gov website.
Please visit the dropdown tab for insurance requirements and the proper waiver to sign before the deadline. If you have questions about this on line waiver or the health insurance requirements, please call 630-752-5573.
Please call or e-mail SHS if we can assist you with any questions that you might have.
Phone: 630-752-5072
Have a wonderful summer and the SHS staff will be ready to get reacquainted or welcome you in the fall.
