Laboratory
Assistants: Each semester 5-7 Geology majors work in the
department as Laboratory Assistants primarily for the laboratory
sections of the Physical Geology (GEOL 211) courses. Lab Assistants
play an important role in making the Physical Geology Labs
run smoothly. They assist the instructors with answering student
questions during the lab period and they grade students’ objective
lab exercises weekly.
Project
Assistants: Geology majors are commonly awarded positions
to participate in the curation of important samples, in the
operation and maintainance of instrumentation, and in the
preparation of course materials.
