Wheaton in Argentina 2009

Wheaton in Argentina is an eight-week summer program that combines language study and practice, cultural immersion, travel and a service project. It provides Christian students a unique opportunity to become familiar with the culture and language, and people of Argentina. In addition, students will travel to the interior of Argentina, as well as Urugu4ray and Chile during the last part of the program. After the first week of orientation at Kairos Study Center, participants live with Christian families in the Greater Buenos Aires area for the next five weeks. Students normally earn 8 hours credit toward the Spanish major or minor. Under some circumstances, an additional 2 hours credit (for a total of 10 hours) may be added. The program fulfills the study abroad requirement for the Spanish major at Wheaton College.

Price
The cost is $6,000 (+/- $200), depending on the number of participants, the final itinerary and the exchange rates. This price includes round trip airfare Chicago-Buenos Aires-Santiago, Chile, tuition and fees, orientation materials, most texts, group land travel in Argentina and Uruguay, other excursions, lodging, and all meals. Students who do not return with the group and/or change their travel plans may be subject to a supplementary fee. We recommend a minimum of $300 for personal expenses and souvenirs. Financial aid is available for overseas programs on the same basis as for on-campus programs; apply through the Financial Aid office.
