The 2008 - 2009 Application Process
STEP 1
Apply for a PIN number which serves as your signature when you file the FAFSA online. You can apply anytime and expect your e-signature to arrive by mail about two weeks, or you can provide an e-mail address and expect the PIN number in about three days.
STEP 2
File the FAFSA beginning January 1, 2008. We suggest you have your completed 2007 IRS tax forms on hand in order to provide accurate information. Be sure to list Wheaton College using FAFSA code 001781.
STEP 3
Complete the Wheaton College Application for dependent undergraduates, independent undergraduates or graduates and submit it to our office.
STEP 4
After filing the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor, listing the information you provided. If you provided an e-mail address on the FAFSA, you will receive a link to your SAR via e-mail. Otherwise you will receive your SAR through the mail. Review this information carefully. If corrections need to be made, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov or use Part 2 of the paper SAR to correct the information and send the signed SAR directly to the federal processor. If the SAR indicates that you are selected for "verification," or if the Financial Aid Office notifies you that you have been selected for verification, you will need to provide the Financial Aid Office with a signed copy of the student 2007-1040 and W-2s(and the spouse's, if the student is married), and an Independent Verfication Worksheet. if the student is a dependent undergraduate, he and his parent(s) will need to submit a Dependent Verification Worksheet. Parents will also need to submit additional information. Note: Independent undergraduates please use the forms for independent students available on either the page for undergraduate or graduate students.
Any documents submitted must include the student's full name.
