Job/Internship Offer Guidelines

The Wheaton College Center for Vocation and Career (CVC) believes that students should have the opportunity to explore the options open to them in order to make responsible and well-informed decisions about employment offers. We also recognize that employers have certain constraints in the flexibility they have to accommodate student needs. We expect employers to refrain from presenting exploding job offers, which exert undue pressure on students by making offers with unreasonable time limits or time-sensitive penalties.


  • Entry-level Job Offers - As a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Wheaton College Center for Vocation and Career adheres to the NACE Principles and expects our employers to do the same as we strive to best serve Wheaton College students and alumni.  In accordance with NACE’s guidelines, the CVC recommends employers give students a minimum of 3 weeks to return a decision on a job offer.


  • Offers extended to summer interns: For entry-level job offers to summer interns, students will be provided until November 7, 2016, or 2 weeks from date of offer, whichever is LATER, to return a decision on an internship offer.

Please note that all employer registrations and job postings require approval, which may take up to 48 hours. Also note that part-time positions can be posted for 30 days, while full-time positions can be posted for 90 days.
