CSA Annual Campaign 2007-2008

photoThe CSA Annual Campaign, in its fourth year, was developed to provide scholarship assistance to students demonstrating financial need. Last year, through the Annual Campaign and the support of friends like you, over $37,000 was raised, providing scholarship funds for 75 students!

If you would like to make a difference in the daily lives of students by providing healthy, wholesome and creative opportunities in the arts, you may contribute to the CSA Annual Campaign by printing out, completing, and mailing in the pledge card available here.

In 2007-2008, the Annual Campaign will continue to focus primarily on raising funds for student scholarships, but will help meet the needs of each of the following programs:

 

  • CODA - Through our new initiative, CODA (Community Outreach for Developing Artists), 120 immigrant, refugee, and low-income children now receive weekly music instruction at World Relief DuPage and the YWCA in Addison. According to their age/ability level, students are assigned to Early Childhood Music class, recorder class, chimes ensemble, or a semi-private violin lesson.
  • Visual Arts - A new Visual Arts program was launched in September, 2007, with 32 students enrolled.
  • Scholarships - Over $30,000 in scholarships will be provided to enrolled students who have demonstrated financial need. A thorough tracking procedure is followed, including teacher evaluations and student practice records, to guarantee student progress.
  • Student Workers/Internships - Approximately 20 music majors from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music are involved in classes as interns, student teachers, aides, and accompanists, adding a unique dimension to the experience of CSA students.
