Welcome to Wheaton!
Do you enjoy music? Are you looking for ways to serve God through music?
Then consider joining a MUSIC ENSEMBLE.
Our graduates tell us that making music at Wheaton really does make a difference. Concerts, rehearsals and social activities are among the most cherished Wheaton memories. You, too, can enjoy the impact of a music ensemble experience.
Auditions for all the music ensembles will be held during Orientation and the first week of classes. When you arrive on campus, ensemble members will be available in the Welcome Center with detailed information and will help you schedule your audition.
CONCERT CHOIR, WOMEN'S CHORALE AND MEN'S GLEE CLUB
The choral ensembles at Wheaton have a rich tradition of making music. For many of our students being a member of choir is a source of deep friendships and spiritual growth. Each of our choirs is unique and within each choir there is a wide variety of interests, majors, and backgrounds allowing students to bring their individual gifts together to make music.
Tradition and fellowship are important components of the Men's Glee Club. Approximately 60 men from all over the world and from every major field of study make up the Club. We rehearse three afternoons per week and perform in a variety of campus, church and local venues to very enthusiastic audiences.
The Women's Chorale is known for its innovative concerts and activities. The Chorale is not a "typical" women's choir but a group that excels in performance and ministry. We meet three afternoons each week for rehearsals—some alone and some combined with the Glee Club.
The Concert Choir's tradition is performance of the highest quality repertoire with great skill and beauty. This is achieved through disciplined and rigorous rehearsal and commitment to the choir's artistic and spiritual goals. The choir is open to all Wheaton students regardless of major or classification.
AUDITIONS will be held during Orientation. You can bring a prepared piece or sing a familiar hymn. Sight-reading and vocalization are also included in the audition.
