Mike Hertenstein of the Cornerstone Festival will be our host and will lead the discussion along with Dr. David Fletcher. The film viewing will be held in Chatlos Studios in the lower level of the Billy Graham Center west end. This event is free and open to the public. In the chilling drama After the Truth, the film delivers Josef Mengele to present-day Berlin, where he is forced to stand trial for the atrocities which afforded him the title ‘Auschwitz's Angel of Death.’ Who better to defend Dr. Mengele (played by Götz George) than the man who has been obsessively writing his biography - Peter Rohm (played by Kai Wiesinger)? Mengele targets Rohm for his defense, and persuades him to take his case by isolating him and bombarding him with mind games, all the while using psychologically twisted rhetoric to ensnare him. The hard, cold Mengele then sits before the Berlin court in a specially constructed glass box, facing the incensed courtroom, while maintaining his callous presence. "After the Truth" is an award winning German language film (with subtitles). We are awash in a multimedia sea that offers us promise and peril as technological advances speedily emerge and become part of our everyday lives. Great opportunities and challenges for moral discernment also emerge. With this in mind, the CACE annual theme for 2008-2009 is “What’s The Frequency: Authentic Living in a 5000 Channel Universe.” Join us this year as we provide a number of opportunites to pursue Christian moral discernment. We will have several speakers, a concert, and a conference, and you are warmly invited to walk with us as we seek to live faithful and wise lives, navigating the constantly changing seas of our multimedia world.
