J. D. Douglas, 1922-2003
Memorial Page
James Dixon Douglas was a Christian scholar, editor and author whose work helped to make Christian history available to millions. Douglas passed away on August 20th. The Billy Graham Center Archives has materials that relate to only a few aspects of his multi-faceted
ministry, but we put here one item from our holdings which captures a little of his spirit.
On this page is a link to an interview of J.D. Douglas conducted by Dr. Lois
Ferm (Collection 141, tape T207). Dr. Ferm has for many years interviewed people associated with Billy Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
This particular interview was taped when both Douglas and Ferm were helping with the 1986 International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists (ICIE) in Amsterdam, an event sponsored by the BGEA.
In this interview, Douglas talks about his part in preparing for publication the presentations at the 1974 International Congress on World Evangelization (held in Lausanne, Switzerland) and the 1983 International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists (held in Amsterdam). He also talks about his longtime friendship with Billy Graham.
